Robert Jay “Bob” Chase was born March 19, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa, to parents Kenneth and Elna (Olson) Chase. He attended school in South Sioux City, Nebraska, until 7th grade when the family moved to Arthur, Iowa. He graduated from Odebolt-Arthur High School with the class of 1973.

In 1974 Bob married Linda Lou Kuhlman in Schleswig, Iowa. They lived in Odebolt, Iowa, until 1978 when they moved to Arthur where they raised three children: Jason, Gary, and Kristi. Bob worked at Tunink Feeds, the Arthur Lumber Company, and the Arthur Elevator. In 1987 he started working at Midwest Industries in Ida Grove, Iowa, until his retirement in 2020.

Bob was a worker at heart. He was always ready for a project and was more than willing to lend a hand to his friends, family, and neighbors. For over 20 years, in his free time he enjoyed driving lots of miles and providing an extra hand for Roeder Farms. They always treated him like family.

Bob always enjoyed helping in the kitchen with cooking meals; his dad’s meatball recipe was one of his favorites. His quick wit often brought a smile to others. Kristi especially enjoyed him chaperoning her school trips. One special memory of Bob was the many times he played “Santa” for area events. During retirement, he loved spending time with the grandkids and following all of their activities and events.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife Linda Chase of Arthur, IA; his children and grandchildren Jason (Wendee) Chase (Emma & Ryan) of Rock Rapids, IA, Gary (Dawn) Chase (Adrienne) of Arthur, IA and Kristi (Aaron) Stettnichs (Chase & baby on the way in 2025) of Rock Rapids, IA; brother Tim (Kathy) Chase of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters Connie (Dennis) Ellis of Denison, IA and Suzie (Jason) Whitehead of Arizona; sister-in-law Mary (John) Siegner of Denison, IA; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Chase; mother and stepfather Elna (Bud) Burns; in-laws Marie and Elmer Kuhlman; brother Tom Chase; many good neighbors and friends.
