James “Jim” Lansink, was born on February 9, 1940, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to William Sr. and Margaret (Kern) Lansink. Jim was a lifelong member of the community he loved.

Jim attended school in Ida Grove graduating with the Class of 1957. After high school, he continued his education at a trade school in Omaha, Nebraska. Shortly after, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served with honor as a medic for two years overseas in Berlin.

Upon returning home, Jim began working as a mechanic at Barry Motors in Danbury and soon purchased a farm northeast of Ida Grove. On October 11, 1974, he married the love of his life, Jane Weber of Danbury, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. Together they built a strong and loving home, raising their three children Stacie, Brad, and Darin on the farm.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took pride in all that his family accomplished. He loved coaching his children’s little league baseball and softball teams and cherished Sunday afternoons gathered around the table with his family. His deep-rooted sense of family, hard work, and faith shaped every part of his life.

A true “Good Neighbor,” Jim was always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a deep appreciation for his home and was often heard saying, “Why would you ever travel when you live in God’s country?”

In later years, Jim and Jane moved to a smaller acreage just down the road from their original farm, continuing to enjoy the land and lifestyle they built together.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Jane; daughter Stacie (Mike); son Brad (Cheryl) and granddaughter Kyla; son Darin (Misty) and children Dustin and Marilyn; brothers Jerry Lansink and Dave (Peggy) Lansink; sister Mary Murdocco; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Margaret Lansink; parents-in-law Ray and Rita   Weber; brothers Lawrence Lansink, William Jr. Lansink, and Don Lansink, sisters-in-law Diane Lansink, Judy Lansink, and Darlene Lansink; brothers-in-law Tony Boysen and Sal Murdocco.
