Harold Wayne “Fudd” Grant, the son of C. Evelyn (McDermott) and Gerald LeRoy “Lefty” Grant Sr., was born on August 10, 1956, in Pisgah, Iowa. He grew up in rural Castana, Iowa and received his education from Maple Valley High School graduating with the class of 1974.

After graduating, he began what would become a lifelong career as an over-the-road truck driver. In 1988, Fudd moved to Ida Grove, Iowa and over the years worked for Mau Trucking, Grove Trucking, and independently for various farmers.

In his spare time, Fudd enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and snowmobiling, and he often spent hours tinkering with small engine repairs. He enjoyed playing the card game Woodbine and had a fondness for buying scratch-off lottery tickets. Fudd could be stubborn, a bit sarcastic, and sometimes difficult to deal with, but he was always someone you could count on when it mattered. He cared deeply for his large family, though he tended to slip away once gatherings grew too big. Even if it was never said outright, he was likely the favorite uncle to many. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory include his siblings Shirley (Jim) Kinney of Le Mars, IA, Melvin “Barney” Grant of Castana, IA, John Grant of Battle Creek, IA, Shelia Grant of Jacksonville, FL, and Bill Grant of Sentinel, OK; sister-in-law Rebecca Grant of Gretna, NE; best friends Mike Clark and Craig Schafer both of Ida Grove, IA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald “Lefty” and C. Evelyn Grant; brothers Gerald “Butch” (Marsha) Grant Jr. and Donald Grant; nephews Jimmy and Mark Kinney; and niece Tiffany Grant.
