In Memory of Karen Hoffman
Karen Hoffman, 81, of Palm Harbor, Florida, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2026.
Born in Duluth, Minnesota, Karen’s life journey carried her across the country and around the world. Family moves took her to Colorado, Texas, Virginia, Minnesota, the United Kingdom, Canada, Miami and Tampa, Florida. With each new home, she found meaningful work as an Administrative Assistant in businesses, schools, credit unions, banks, manufacturing, and a community college. After retiring, she poured her energy into organizations and social groups she loved, including the American Women’s Club in the UK and Canada, Bunco, Mah Jongg, New Neighbors, and The Birthday Babes in Miami. She also served as an officer in the Miami PEO Chapter A and was a founding member of the 100 Ladies of Deering, a philanthropic circle of women dedicated to preserving the historic Deering Estate in Palmetto Bay, Florida. Wherever she went, Karen formed lasting friendships and touched countless lives with her warmth and grace.
Karen was a woman of deep and abiding faith, and her compassion shaped every part of her life. She devoted herself to caring for others, reflecting Christ’s love through her kindness, generosity, and servant’s heart. Whether through her volunteer work, her philanthropy, or the quiet, steady ways she showed up for those she loved, Karen lived her faith daily - offering encouragement, comfort, and joy. Her life made a meaningful and lasting impact on everyone blessed to know her.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle strength, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed and at home. Karen’s life was a testament to love, service, and grace.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, George; her daughter, Kristi (Michael) Janish of Palm Harbor, Florida; her son, David (Deana) Hoffman of Milton, Georgia; and her six cherished grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness: Payton Janish of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Anna Lee Hoffman of Greenville, South Carolina; Charlie Hoffman of Jacksonville, Florida; Coryn Janish of Boston, Massachusetts; Grant Janish of Durham, North Carolina; and George Hoffman of Nashville, Tennessee. She also leaves behind her sisters Jane Anderson, Joan Messer, Wendy Adams, and Jennifer Grimm; her brother Ron Adams; and a wide circle of family and friends who were blessed by her love and friendship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Adams (2007) and Marlou Adams (2022).
While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace in God’s eternal care. She will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts - especially in those moments when a flamingo brings a smile and reminds us of her joyful, radiant spirit.
