In Memory of Gerald "Gerry" Kallin
Gerry Kallin, age 66, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas, Nevada.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Father William A. McCarthy and Father David Liewer will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa, with Military Rites conducted by the McNamara-Moore Post No. 61 of the American Legion of Ida Grove, Iowa.
A Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Gerald Paul “Gerry” Kallin was born August 24, 1959, the 11th child of Harold and Mary (Lamoureux) Kallin at the Ida Grove Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa. He attended Ida Grove Community Schools and graduated with the Class of 1976. He went on to attend Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa, before making the decision to join the United States Navy.
Gerry served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and 6 years in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He retired from the Navy while stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada and it was there that he met Josephine Eusebio. It was a match made in Heaven and they married in 2010. While in Las Vegas, Gerry worked for nearly 10 years at the Nevada Correctional Facility before retiring due to health reasons.
Gerry is survived by his 10 siblings: Victor (Connie) Kallin, Francis Kallin (Lang), Mary Jean (Dennis) Johnson, Betty (John) Baker, Eileen (Dennis) Cegla, Rose Kallin, Mag (Joe) Lemek, John (Kathy) Kallin, Jane (Bruce) Otto, and Tom (Eileen) Kallin; many nieces and nephews; also by his special friend Julie Lawrence of Las Vegas, NV.
Those preceding him in death were his parents Harold and Mary Louise; sister Joan Marie (in infancy); wife Josephine; maternal and paternal grandparents; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gerry will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for always being ready for a good time and for his willingness to always help those in need.
Those who knew Gerry well know that he was fond of a good wine, dark chocolate, and a winning streak at the casino. He will be missed by many.
