Rose Hein, age 78, of Battle Creek, Iowa, died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.
                A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, with The Reverend Richard Ball officiating.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Ida Grove.  Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. 
                Born September 16, 1934, in Battle Creek, Iowa, Rose Belle Hein was the daughter of Joe and Jane (Hayward) Stapleton.  She grew up and received her education in Battle Creek, graduating from Battle Creek High School. 
                On June 9, 1952, Rose was united in marriage to Herbert H. Hein at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove.  The couple made their home in Battle Creek and was blessed with three children, Marc, Michael, and Pamela.  Rose worked with her husband on the farm and later enjoyed her many years working as a dietary aide at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek. 
                She was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove and also participated in Neighborly Neighbors.  In her spare time she enjoyed baking, crafts, crocheting and needlework, and was an avid Hawkeye fan.  Above all, Rose treasured her family, always supporting and encouraging them in their many activities.
                Survivors include her husband, Herbert; three children, Marc (Michelle) Hein of Sioux City, Michael (Judy) Hein of Morris, MN, and Pamela (Bartholomew) Eisfelder of Evanston, IL; seven grandchildren, Remington Hein and fiancée Jordan Henningfeld of Sioux City, Kaley Hein of Sioux City, Tyler, Deidre, and Danton Hein, all of Morris, MN, and Noah and Margaret  Eisfelder, both of Evanston, IL; a great-grandchild, Hayden Hein; a sister, Ellen (Mike) Furlich of South Sioux City, NE; three sisters-in-law, Betty Newman and Irene (Dick) Harris, all of Sioux Falls, SD, and Phyllis (Gilbert) Davis of Arthur; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
                She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joseph Stapleton; and three sisters, Lenora Seuntjens, Mary Rice, and Jane Peters.
