Ruby Lindskoog, age 91, of Odebolt, Iowa, died Monday, January 21, 2013, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Kiron, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. The Reverend Bruce Kaihoi will officiate, with burial to follow in the Odebolt Cemetery, Odebolt, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Odebolt.
Born May 21, 1921, on her parents’ farm in Crawford County, Iowa, Ruby Maydelle Lindskoog was the daughter of Elmer and Florence (Lindberg) Mauritz. She received her early education at Otter Creek No. 6 country school and graduated from Kiron High School in 1938. Following graduation, she worked for Mrs. W.P. Adams of Odebolt.
On July 5, 1942, Ruby was united in marriage to Wayne Lindskoog at her parents’ home in rural Kiron, Iowa. They made their home on a farm near Odebolt until moving into Odebolt in 2011.
Ruby was an active member of the Odebolt Covenant Church until it closed, after which she returned to the Kiron Baptist Church which she attended during her childhood.
Ruby’s steadfast love was evidenced in her devotion to her husband and family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two children and their spouses, Dennis and Cynthia Lindskoog of Odebolt, and Marlys and Mark Conner of Glidden; four grandchildren, Lori (Steve) Mattes of Newton, Brett (Andra) Lindskoog of Odebolt, Jill (Paul) Fox of Chaska, MN, and Abby (Whitney) White of Ames; nine great-grandchildren, Adam, Caleb, Micah, and Brennan Mattes, Brynn, Blaire, and Alec Lindskoog, Grayson Fox, and Conner White; a brother and his wife, Ron and Ellen Mauritz of Cheyenne, WY; a sister-in-law, Helen Mauritz of Kiron; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne in March, 2012; an infant sister, Marilyn; and a brother, Delmar Mauritz.
