In Memory of Norma E Jebsen
Norma E. Jebsen, age 90 of Battle Creek, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the Willow Dale Wellness Village of Battle Creek, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Memorial Park Cemetery of Sioux City, Iowa. The Reverend Randy Cormeny will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery of Sioux City, Iowa. There will be no visitation. The Christensen ~ Van Houten Funeral Home of Battle Creek, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to www.christensenvanhouten.com
Norma E. Jebsen was born on February 26, 1924 in Soldier, Iowa to Hans and Mary (Saline) Jensen.
She was raised in the Monona County area on a farm. She attended school in Castana, Iowa.
Norma met Lawrence Jebsen and the two were united into marriage on October 16, 1947 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hinton, Iowa.
The couple made their home on a farm two miles outside of Hinton, Iowa. They were blessed with three children, Robert, Carol “Loni”, and Paul.
Norma stayed home while her children were little, but once they were in school, she started working in packing houses along with helping Lawrence on the farm.
Norma enjoyed the outdoors and livestock animals especially sheep along with, gardening, spending time with family, teaching Sunday School, and Friday night cards with friends (Cansta).
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert (Barbara) Jebsen of Port Deposit, Maryland; Carol Leiloni (Bernie) Krenk of Ida Grove, Iowa; eight grandchildren, eighteen great- grandchildren, and three great- great- grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Hansen of Hinton, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence Jebsen; two brothers, Orval and Ardell Jensen; four sisters, Azelia, Elvena, Neola, and Pearl June; a son, Paul Jebsen; and two great granddaughters, Alisha Marie Ryen and Anna Marie Schoen.
