Steven Stanley Christiansen, age 64, of Marcus formerly Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Dakota County Nebraska.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Burial will be held at a later date. The Christensen ~ Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to www.christensenvanhouten.com  

Steven Stanley Christiansen was born on March 4, 1951, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to John and Iola (Raymer) Christiansen. He was baptized in the United Methodist Church of Ida Gove, Iowa.

Stevens’s family moved to California where he attended school. Steven returned later to the Ida Grove area as a young man.

Steven started work for the City of Ida Grove and later for Ida Grove Roofing. He met and married Tami McCormick at the United Methodist Church of Ida Grove in 1976. The couple were blessed with a daughter Tara Kay.  They later parted ways but remained good friends.

Steven was blessed later on with a son, Steven Stanley (C.J.) Christiansen, Jr. who found his forever family with Cam and Gina Rassel.

Steven enjoyed fishing, playing pool, darts, and guitar, putting puzzles together, and watching war movies. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Kansas City Chiefs

He is survived by his daughter, Tara Thompson of Harlan, Iowa; two grandchildren, Lee Rohlf of Arthur, Iowa and Aden Rohlf of Harlan Iowa; son, C.J. Christiansen, Jr. of Marcus, Iowa; brothers, Donald Christiansen of Oregon and Ronald Christiansen of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Randa Christiansen of Des Moines, Iowa; and numerous extended family and friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Marvin Christiansen.

“So sorry to hear about Steve... I have known him all his life... He and Marvin use to come and play guitar with my hubby Fred Vermeys...
