Delbert Lawrence Rohlk was born on July 14, 1928 on a farm near Holstein, Iowa to Hans and Rhoda (Goettsch) Rohlk.
Delbert attended country school where he fell in love with history and received the highest score in the county on the 8th grade exam. He went on to graduate from Holstein High School in 1946. After high school, Delbert served in the United States Army for two years before returning home to farm.
Delbert met Sheila Fulton and the couple were united into marriage on August 17, 1958 in the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Ida Grove, Iowa; where they continued as long-time members. The couple were blessed with three children: Kyle, Randy, and Jennifer.
Delbert and Sheila spent most of their married life farming south of Ida Grove, Iowa. They enjoyed raising crops, cattle, and hogs; before moving to Ida Grove in 1993.
Delbert enjoyed traveling out west during the winter months, dancing to polka bands, and listening to old-time country music.
It brought him pure joy to watch his family engage in agriculture and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife of 56 years Sheila Rohlk; children: Kyle (Mary) Rohlk of Arthur, Iowa, Randy (Staci) Rohlk of Ida Grove, Iowa, and Jennifer (Mike) Glawe of Ida Grove, Iowa; grandchildren: Brenda (Nick), Brent (Kayla), Barbara (Lance), Emily, Jordan, Erin, and Autumn; great grandchildren: Dodge, Kynleigh, Cole, Jaxson, and Addyson; brother-in-law, Tom Pope of Sioux City, Iowa; sister-in-law Mary Rohlk of Ida Grove, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
