In Memory of Anita Marie Rickert
Anita Marie Rickert, age 55, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Mercy Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Monsignor Kenneth A. Seifreid will officiate. Committal Services will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 with a rosary service held at 4:00 p.m. and a vigil service held at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. The Christensen - Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to www.christensenvanhouten.com.
Anita Marie Rickert was born on October 19, 1960, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to Paul and Irma (Schumann) Redenius.
Anita grew up on the family farm North East of Ida Grove, Iowa. She was baptized into her faith at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Anita attended school in Ida Grove and graduate with the class of 1979.
Anita entered into marriage to Dennis Sykes and the couple were blessed with a son, Chad. The couple later parted ways.
Anita married James Rickert of Mapleton, Iowa on April 7, 1984. To this union two children were born, Justin and Brianne. Later on the couple parted ways.
Anita worked various jobs before becoming employed at GOMACO Industries in Ida Grove. Anita suffered several strokes and later was diagnosed with breast cancer. Anita entered into a skilled care facility where she has stayed up to present date.
Anita enjoyed, crocheting, the Coca Cola bear, collecting snowmen, having a personal pan cheese pizza from Pizza Hut along with her favorite Dr. Pepper, eating chocolate, and going shopping. Anita especially adored her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Chad (Melissa Newquist) Rickert of Mapleton, Iowa, Justin (Kandi) Rickert of Dow City, Iowa, and Brianne Rickert of St. Augustine, Florida; nine grandchildren; mother, Irma Jean Redenius of Ida Grove, Iowa; brothers, Mike (Faye) Redenius of Schleswig, Iowa, Daniel Redenius of Ida Grove, Iowa, David Redenius of Carroll, Iowa, and Jim (Denise) Redenius of Ida Grove, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Anita was preceded in death by her father, Paul Redenius, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
