Colleen K. Beck, age 65, of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at her residence of Battle Creek, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. The Reverend Kevin J. Freese will officiate; with committal services following in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Colleen K. Beck, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth Powers, was born on May 8th, 1951 in Wayne, Nebraska.
On September 6, 1995, in Elk Point, South Dakota, Colleen was united into marriage to Brian L. Beck. The couple made their home in Battle Creek, Iowa, and welcomed eight children: Traci, Terry, Tomera, Tiffany, Cory, Michelle, Ryan, and Kristy.
Colleen treasured her time spent with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed: watching nature, a hot cup of coffee and visiting with friends, travelling to Florida to visit family and riding shot gun across country in her husband Brian’s semi.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ruth Powers; Brian's son Ryan Beck; brother Bob Washburn; in-laws, Audrey (Schmidt) and Jack D. Beck; and biological mother Frances Koopman Washburn.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 22 years Brian Beck of Battle Creek, IA; children: Traci Wahl and special friend Sean Dunlop of Westport, WA, Terry Lundeen of Omaha, NE, Tomera (Michael) Kelly of Hartsville, SC, Tiffany Lundeen and special friend Barrett Miller of Marcus, IA, Cory (Aleah) Schon of Cherokee, IA, Michelle (Matt) Hagge of Ames, IA, and Kristy (Kevin) Feddersen of Battle Creek, IA; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers: Jerry (Marsha) Washburn of Land O Lakes, FL, Tom (Kristi) Washburn of Odessa, FL, and Dennis Koopman of Emerson, NE; sister Patricia (Chuck) Halling of Tampa, FL; loyal companion Colleen’s dog pappy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
