In Memory of Doris A. Jepsen

Doris Jepsen, age 88, of Correctionville, Iowa, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek, Iowa.
            Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church (Midway) in rural Battle Creek, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes.  The Reverend Timothy Chase will officiate, with burial to follow in St. Paul Cemetery (Midway).  Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.  
            Born June 28, 1924, in Mapleton, Iowa, Doris Ann Jepsen was the daughter of Carl and Frieda (Wiefenbach) Schable.  She married Julius Jepsen, Sr. on October 20, 1941, in Rockport, Missouri.
            Doris enjoyed gardening, quilting for World Relief, crafting, giving to others, and visiting with family and friends.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Midway) at Battle Creek.
            In November of 2011, Doris entered Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek.  Until that time she lived on her farm near Correctionville. 
            Survivors include three children, Sharon (Eldon) Albers of Battle Creek, LaDonna (Paul) Hansen of Charter Oak; and Gary Jepsen of Battle Creek; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Jepsen of Correctionville; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are a sister, Minnie (Raymond) Berner of Seymour; and a brother, Louis (JoAnn) Schable of Battle Creek.
            She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Julius Jepsen, Jr.; a brother, Carl Schable, Jr.; and a sister, Louise Krueger.
