Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Redenius) Goodman, age 79, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the Morningside Healthcare Community of Ida Grove, Iowa.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa. Father Richard D. Ball will officiate. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa. Elizabeth A. “Betty” Goodman, the daughter of George and Anna (Dirksen) Redenius, was born on the family farm by Ida Grove, Iowa on July 16, 1939.  Betty grew up on the farm and received her education in Ida Grove graduating with the class of 1957.

A talented musician, Betty played the accordion and piano. This talent would lead her to play in amateur bands “The Drift Woods” and “Willow Creek”.  She has resided in Texas the last 30 years but returned home due to recent health issues.

Betty loved chocolate, Root Beer and playing cards.  She will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.

She is survived by her children Larry (Laura) Laposky of Helena, MT, Anna (Michael) Reitz of Battle Creek, IA, Laura Messenger of Central City, NE, and Henry Ramirez III of Willis, TX; 6 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren; sisters Catherine Ehrig of Ida Grove, IA and Mary Agnes (Bill) Gaffney of Omaha, NE; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Paul Redenius and George Redenius; brother-in-law Leo Ehrig; and great grandson Leo Steinbach.
