Roger A. Steele, age 53, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018, in Sac City, Iowa.
A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Father Richard D. Ball will officiate with committal services following in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of Mapleton, Iowa. A Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Roger Anthony Steele, the son of Lawrence and Isabel (Jacoby) Steele, was born April 21, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was raised in Danbury, IA and received his education from Maple Valley High School graduating with the class of 1984. Roger entered the workforce once he finished school. He was employed as a laborer throughout his lifetime at Gomaco, Midwest and Ida Services.
Roger enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical especially taking apart engines. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and doing yardwork. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory include his brother Donnie Steele of Ida Grove, IA; sisters Rose Ann (Howard) Ladwig of Ida Grove, IA, Rita Steele of Garden City, MO, Connie (Mark) Husted of Sioux City, IA, Carol Fruechtenicht of Jefferson, SD and Darlene Nicholson of Sioux City, IA; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Isabel Steele; brothers Robert and James Steele; sister Jean Steele; brothers-in-laws Sam Fruechtenicht and Eric Nicholson.
