In Memory of Wilma Kruthoff
Wilma Kruthoff, age 98, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Black Hawk Care Center of Lake View, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Lake View, Iowa. Rev. Donald E. Petersen III will officiate with Committal Services following in the Wall Lake Cemetery of Wall Lake, Iowa. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Lake View, Iowa. Wilma Lucille Kruthoff, daughter of Carl & Alvena (Peters) Buse, was born on July 25, 1921, in Sac County, Iowa. She was reborn through the waters of Holy Baptism as an infant on October 9, 1921, in the St. Peter’s Church of Rural Sac County.
Wilma attended rural school in Coon Valley Township and graduated from Auburn High School with the class of 1938. On August 4, 1940, she was joined in Holy matrimony to Harold L. Kruthoff. God blessed the couple with four children. On March 16, 1941, Wilma was confirmed in her faith by Rev. F.H. Muenchow.
The couple farmed near Yetter, IA, for five years and in 1946 moved to a farm one mile north of Ulmer, IA where they lived for 18 years. In 1964, they moved to their farm near Schaller, IA and resided there for 23 years before retiring to Lake View, IA, in 1987.
Wilma was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Lake View, IA. She taught Sunday School and was a member of Ladies Aid and Lutheran Kitchen Band.
Survivors include sons, Alan (Barbara) Kruthoff of Lake View, IA and Larry (Linda) Kruthoff of Lake City, IA; daughters, Twila (Robert) Cleveland of Lake View, IA and Betty (James) Anderson of Earlham, IA; 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kruthoff (May 28, 1999); parents, Carl and Alvena Buse and Tony Buse who adopted her in 1975; daughter-in-law Sue Kruthoff; granddaughter Toni Shea; sisters, Eleanor (Harold) Smidt and Esther (Lennis) Garrels.
