In Memory of Hilda "Billie" Andresen

Hilda “Billie” Andresen, age 93, of Ida Grove, Iowa, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Morningside Rehab & Care Center in Ida Grove.
            Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, with The Reverend Adam Peck officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ida Grove Cemetery.  Visitation with the family present will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove on Friday from 6-8 p.m.  
            Born October 17, 1919, in Ida Grove, Iowa, Hilda was the daughter of Fred and Malwine (Heurermann) Streck.  She was baptized and confirmed at Grant Trinity Lutheran Church in Grant Township, Ida County, Iowa.
            On September 11, 1938, Hilda was united in marriage to Harvey A. Andresen at Grant Trinity Lutheran Church.  The couple farmed in rural Ida Grove, later moving into town.  They were blessed with five children, Harvey, Jr., Steven, Janet, Patty, and David.
            Hilda was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was an active member of Circle 4.  She cherished her fellowship with her circle members as well as her bridge and 500 card clubs.
            Hilda spent her life working in various businesses as a clerk, waitress, and bartender.  She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, going to the Rec Center, trips to Iowa football games, and summer weekends at Lake Okoboji.  She loved and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be remembered for her strong faith, thoughtfulness, and always doing for others.
            Survivors include three children, Steven Andresen of Ida Grove, Janet (Gregg) Goodenow of Ida Grove, Patty (Jan) Brandhorst of Marcus; her grandchildren, Troy (Lisa) Weary of Ames, Steve (Kim) Andresen of Moyock, NC, James (Amy) Andresen of Newport News, VA, Danny (Champa) Andresen of Johannesburg, South Africa, Mikel (Ann) Brandhorst of Madrid, Jennifer Andresen of San Diego, CA, Mathew (Kati) Brandhorst of Holstein, and Christopher Andresen, stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA; great-grandchildren, Carter, Evan, Isaac, and Alexandria of Ames; Jeffery of Moyock, NC, Heather of Newport News, VA, Evelyn and Carter of South Africa, Katelyn, Hannah, and Jacob of Madrid, and Lavender and Isabella of San Diego, CA.  Also surviving is a brother, Fred Streck, Jr. of Loveland, CO; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1977; two sons, Harvey Jr. and David; three brothers, Martin, Herbert, and Theodore Streck; and a sister, Margaret Landen.
