In Memory of Lorine L. Newman

Lorine L. Newman, age 76, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Richard A. Salcido will officiate. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.  The Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Lorine L. Newman was born on November 23, 1943, to Elmer and Adelia (Knaack) Timmerman. She grew up on the family farm outside of Holstein, Iowa and received her education at Holstein Community Schools.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, selling Avon, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia, playing BINGO and visiting with friends.

Lorine is survived by four daughters; siblings, Marvin Timmerman of Cherokee, IA, LaVonne Petersen of Phoenix, AZ, Dee Timmerman of Columbus, NE and Donna Miller of Cherokee, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Adelia Timmerman and sister, Nancy Brutsman.
