In Memory of Todd Harrison
Todd Harrison, age 54, of Battle Creek, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2020, at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Rev. Kevin J. Freese will officiate. Committal will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020, at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Todd Allen Harrison, the son of Duane and Audrey (Hansen) Harrison, was born December 28, 1964, in Battle Creek, Iowa. Growing up in Battle Creek, Todd received his education and graduated from Battle Creek High School with the class of 1983. During his school years Todd was crowned homecoming king and was an accomplished athlete. He had a passion for playing football and remained an avid football fan.
After graduation, Todd entered the workforce where he was employed by various businesses including Midwest Industries in Ida Grove, Iowa. On March 27, 1993, Todd was united in marriage to Karen Schumacher in the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek. The couple was blessed with four children: Casey, Katelyn, Ty, and Kara. The family made their home in Battle Creek.
As an outdoorsman, Todd enjoyed fishing and hunting pheasants with his children and nephews. Todd had an eye for detail. He took pride in maintaining his yard and detailing his truck. He also liked snowmobiling and horses. A proud family man, Todd treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to joke around with others.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife Karen Harrison of Battle Creek, IA; children Casey Blackmore (special friend Rachel Shoumaker) of Correctionville, IA, Katelyn (Nick) Stangl of Underwood, IA, Ty Harrison and Kara Harrison both of Battle Creek, IA; grandchildren Kane and Sage Stangl, Carson Shoumaker; brother Kenny Harrison of Ida Grove, IA; nephews Drew (Heather) Hieber and their children Blake, Dierks, Wyatt, Beau, Audrey, and Asher of Mapleton, IA and Devon (Avery) Hieber and their children Brynlee, Brextyn, and Sawyer of Castana, IA; niece Dana (Jamie) Hanson and their children Kaeson, Kael, and Daelyn of Danbury, IA; uncles Chuck (Geneva) Harrison of Sun City, AZ and Myrl (Pricilla) Harrison of Sun City West, AZ; and cousin Roger (Eva) Kropf of Battle Creek, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Duane and Audrey Harrison; his paternal and maternal grandparents; sister and brother-in-law Kim and Dan Hieber; and uncle Darrell Harrison.
