In Memory of Karen Holly Rector
Karen Holly Rector, age 76, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.
A Private Family Service will be held with Pastor Luann Benge officiating. Private Family Committal Services will be held at a later date in the Odebolt Cemetery of Odebolt, Iowa. Karen Holly (Noyd) Rector was born to Gus and Mildred (Miller) Noyd on December 21, 1944. Later Mildred passed away and Gus married Lorraine Erickson who adopted Karen. Karen graduated from Odebolt-Arthur High School with the class of 1962. In school Karen was active in music and played basketball.
In 1964 Karen married the love of her life, Roger Rector. To this marriage they were blessed with two sons, Corey Alan and Bradley J. The couple made their home in Ida Grove, Iowa.
Karen worked for several doctors in Ida Grove before joining her husband at the Ida County Courier-Reminder. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member of Chapter CB PEO. Karen taught aerobics with Paula Hultgren, loved gardening, and playing golf. One of her favorite things was walking her dog, Brodie. Karen’s pride and joy was going to her grandchildren’s activities.
Left to cherish her memories include her husband of 57 years Roger Rector of Ida Grove, IA; children Corey (Shawna) Rector of Gretna, NE, Bradley Rector and special friend Sanny of Waukee, IA; grandchildren Sarah Rector, Holly Rector and Will Rector; sister-in-law Cheryl (Rector) Briscoe and her husband Ron Briscoe of Omaha NE; many cousins and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gus and Mildred Noyd and her in-laws Bill and Marge Rector.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Karen’s name may be sent to the Horn Memorial Hospital Hospice in Ida Grove, Iowa.
