Eva Mae Konrady, age 91, of Battle Creek, Iowa (formerly of Ida Grove, Iowa) passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Father William McCarthy will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. The Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online at www.christensenvanhouten.com


Eva Mae Konrady, the daughter of Clifford and Ruth (Hamann) Bond, was born on April 23, 1930, in Ida Grove, Iowa. She grew up in the Ida Grove area. 

On April 24, 1950, Eva was united in marriage to Floyd Konrady in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove. The couple was blessed with three children: Victoria, Holly and Craig. The family lived in the Odebolt and Ute areas before settling on a farm between Ida Grove and Arthur in 1964.

Eva and Floyd enjoyed playing 500 with their card club and camping with friends in the Okoboji/Big Spirit area. Eva enjoyed reading and loved to craft; especially making artificial floral arrangements. She also enjoyed baking and decorating wedding and anniversary cakes. Eva was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rosary Society. 

Left to cherish her memory include her children Victoria Konrady of West Des Moines, IA and Craig (Jeanne) Konrady of Evansdale, IA; grandchildren Nicole (Tommy) Booth of Sarasota, FL, Adam (Kristin) Konrady of Chandler, AZ, Mark (Brittany) Konrady of Norfolk, NE, Natalie Konrady of Hoboken, NJ and Lee (Kristina) Konrady of Winchester, CA; 8 great-grandchildren; half-brother Brian (Marilyn) Bond of Battle Creek, IA; special friend Theresa Bresnahan of Ida Grove, IA; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ruth Bond; stepmother Iola Bond; husband Floyd Konrady; and daughter Holly Konrady Snell.

“Eva (and Floyd) were my Godparents and mom and dad visited them often. I remember the house in Ute quite well and of course the lovely farm house. Eva made our wedding cake in 1971 and I remember mom making flowers with her.Through the years we often stopped to visit when we were in town. She loved her Coca-Cola! Eva was always considered a "classy " lady who had good taste. She loved the family reunions at Moorehead Park and was always interested in what her nieces and nephews were up to. We will miss her. We are attending another funeral in Idaho this week and will be unable to attend services. Our sincere condolences and prayers to the family. ”
