(Heires) Bengford, was welcomed into the world on July 7, 1957, in Ft. Collins, Colorado. The family made their home in Odebolt, Iowa, where Ann attended St. Martin’s Catholic School until the 4th grade and continued her education at Odebolt-Arthur Public School graduating with the class of 1975.
On May 20, 1976, Ann married the love of her life Pat J. Hoefling, in the St. Martin’s Catholic Church of Odebolt. The couple made their home in Odebolt and were blessed with nine children: Joey, Nancy, Mike, Mitch, Matt, Vicki, Janet, Heidi, and Scott. Ann treasured being a stay-at -home mother and raising her family. She taught all of her children the love of our Lord and Savior while instilling a strong faith in each of their hearts.
When her children started to grow up, Ann drove a school bus and cooked in the kitchen for the local Odebolt-Arthur school. She also worked at GOMACO of Ida Grove, Iowa, for 9 years before starting her own business, Hoefling Lawn Service. Keeping busy Ann also kept the books for the family's trucking business Hoefling Trucking and helped start the Triple H Truck Wash. Ann was not afraid of hard work. A jack of all trades, you may have enjoyed her smile as she made many friends bar tending at her daughter’s bar Jock’s in Odebolt.
A faithful servant to her Lord, Ann lent her talents with the OCC, ODC, CEW, and the St. Martin’s Ladies Guild. She loved people and was active in her community. She could always be found lending a helping hand around town.
Ann enjoyed trips to Mexico with her husband Pat and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Loving on her bulldogs Darci & Charlie, and taking in the scene from her patio with a BV Diet. She will be fondly remembered for her delectable caramel corn, her infectious smile, and her love for her family, community and her Lord. Ann’s memory will be cherished and treasured in the hearts of those who will love her forever.
Ann was called home and welcomed into her Savior's arms on November 27, 2021, at the MercyOne Hospital of Des Moines, IA, surrounded with the love of her family.
