Phillip William Hast, age 84, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein, Iowa.
A Private Family Graveside will be held with Chaplin Robyn Plocher officiating.

Phillip William Hast the son of Albert and Dorothy (Nance) Hast, was born on May 29, 1937, in David City, Nebraska. He grew up on the family farm in Buck Grove, Iowa, where he attended country school.
After his schooling was complete, Phillip continued helping with the family farm. On July 8, 1957, Phillip married Mavis Monroe in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Odebolt, Iowa. To this union five children were born: Tammy, Pam, Phyllis, Marty, and Mark.
The family settled in Odebolt and Phillip was employed as a machinist for GOMACO Industries from 1987 to 2006. In their later years they relocated to Ida Grove, Iowa.
In his past time Phillip enjoyed playing darts, camping, and spending time with family.
Phillip is survived by his wife 64 years, Mavis Hast of Ida Grove, IA; children: Tammy (Doug) Wunschel of Early, IA, Pam Nelson of Coralville, IA, Phyllis Petersen of Ida Grove, IA, Marty Hast of Kansas City, KS, and Mark (Kim) Hast of Sioux City, IA; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sister Vernetta Clingenpeel of Council Bluffs, IA; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Dorothy; son-in-law Joe Nelson; grandchildren: Derrick Petersen, Daniel, Steven and Christina Wernerburg; brothers Dean, John, and Russ.
