In Memory of Shirley Ann Rickers
Shirley Ann Rickers, age 90, of Aurelia, Iowa, (formerly of Kiron, Iowa), passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Accura HealthCare Nursing Home of Aurelia, Iowa.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Odebolt, Iowa.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2022, in the Odebolt Cemetery of Odebolt, Iowa. Rev. Ken Miller officiate.

Born on February 19, 1932, on the home farm north of Odebolt, Iowa, Shirley Ann Siebrecht was the daughter of John and Anna (Kessler) Siebrecht. She attended Richland Township Country School through eighth grade and furthered her education at Odebolt High School graduating with the class of 1949. After high school, she attended AIB in Des Moines, Iowa, upon completing her studies; Shirley worked for Ford Motor Co. for 4 years as a teletype operator.
On June 10, 1954, Shirley was united in marriage to Turner Davis in Odebolt. To this union three children were born: Mark, Michelle and Clark. The couple later parted ways. On June 2, 1962, Shirley married Lloyd Rickers. They made their home on the family farm for 6 months located north of Westside, Iowa. On Dec 8, 1962, they relocated to a farm north of Kiron, Iowa.
Shirley kept busy on the farm in her early years. Each day was spent, hauling in cobs, wood, gathering eggs, and milking cows. Her fondest chore, was driving a John Deere tractor pulling a grain binder while watching the bundles of oats being dropped. Shirley’s hobbies were: gardening, playing cards, attending auctions, and selling her treasures at antique shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Siebrecht and Anna Siebrecht; step mother, Hilma (Olson) Siebrecht; daughter, Michelle Davis; brothers: Lloyd, Merle and Kermit Siebrecht; half-brother, Robert Siebrecht; infant half-sister, Roberta Siebrecht; husband Lloyd Rickers; sisters-in-law Louis (Ron) Meals and Linda Rickers.
Survivors include her sons, Clark (Donna) Davis of Schaller, IA; Mark Davis of Kiron, IA; grandchildren: Audrey Davis of Correctionville, IA; Andrew Davis of North Liberty, IA; Amanda Davis of Schaller, IA; Anna (Kaleb) Richter Red Oak, IA; Erika (Brandon) Bishop of South English, IA; and Jackson Davis of Des Moines, IA; two great-grandchildren: Heath and Hollis Bishop; half-sister, Joan (Dick) Grosnickle of Mesa, AZ; sisters-in-law: Mary Siebrecht of Odebolt, IA, Irene Siebrecht of Lake View, IA, and Lois Rickers of Carroll, IA; brother-in-law, Ivan Rickers of Westside, IA; extended family and friends.
