Carol Jean Mohrhauser, the daughter of Loyle F. and Francine E. (Fitzpatrick) Treiber, was born on September 27, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Danbury, Iowa and received her education at St. Mary’s in Danbury and then Maple Valley High School in Mapleton, Iowa.

She married James H. Peters and to this union two children were born James “Jim” and Melissa “Missy”. The couple later parted ways. On July 4, 1984, Carol married Micheal “Mike” Mohrhauser at the city park in Danbury. Together they joined their families welcoming Mike’s daughter’s Tamera and Heather.

Over the years, Carol worked various jobs until she started her career in motel management. For 25 years, Carol managed the Delux Motel in Ida Grove, Iowa, retiring in 2010.

Carol enjoyed family and friends gathering at her home. She also liked tending to her flower beds, gardening, collecting nutcrackers, volunteering at the Horn Memorial gift shop, keeping up with family news and spending time with her grandchildren.

A joy in her later years was reuniting with a son, Dick (Roxanne) Peters and having the privilege of getting acquainted with their families.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband Mike Mohrhauser of Ida Grove, IA; children James “Jim” (Jodi) Peters of Ida Grove, IA, Melissa “Missy” (Michael Gross) Lantz of Ida Grove, IA, Dick (Roxanne) Peters and their families of Tea, SD, Tamera (Robert “Bob”) Deibert of Colorado Springs, CO and Heather (Kelly) Sayer of Colorado Springs, CO; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sister Sheila (Larry “Red”) Kennaley of Midlothian, TX; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and special friends.
