In Memory of Kenneth "Butch" Wardrip

Kenneth “Butch” Wardrip, age 76, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at his residence of Lake View, Iowa.

Per Butch’s wishes, a party will be held in his honor from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at The Bar in Lake View, Iowa.

Kenneth “Butch” Wardrip the son of Raymond and Lydia (McVicker) Wardrip, was born on April 24, 1946, in Carroll, Iowa. 

Butch grew up in Odebolt, Iowa, where he received his education in the Odebolt-Arthur School District. In January of 1965, Butch enlisted into the United States Navy. He served his country on the USS Jonas Ingram during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in December of 1967.

After being discharged from the Navy, Butch returned to the area and began his career as a truck driver. He will be remembered for his quick wit, great sense of humor, and his one-liners. Butch enjoyed watching old westerns, The Lawrence Welk Show and The Dean Martin Show; and socializing with friends while enjoying a cold beverage. 

Survivors include his children: daughter Laurie (DeWayne) Krayenhagen of Ida Grove, Iowa, Tom Wardrip of Odebolt, Iowa; special friend of 30 years Mary Boeckman; Mary’s son Nathan (Crissy) Boeckman of Lake View, Iowa; grandchildren: Samantha (Levi) Payne, Jace Krayenhagen, Rylee Krayenhagen, Austin Wardrip, Brant Wardrip; Mary’s grandchildren: Logan Riedell, Lexi Boeckman, Lily Boeckman, and Elle Boeckman; extended family and friends. 

Butch was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Lydia Wardrip and sister Susan Friday.
