In Memory of Dale W. Prosch

Dale W. Prosch, age 95, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Black Hawk Life Care Center of Lake View, Iowa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Richard A. Salcido will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. A Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Dale William Prosch, the son of William and Alma (Nelson) Prosch, was born on July 2, 1927, in Denison, Iowa. He attended school in Ida County, graduating from Ida Grove High School with the class of 1945. 

Dale farmed in Logan Township with his dad and then on his own until retiring in the late 90’s. On February 22, 1948, Dale was united in marriage to Creta Jane Else at her grandparent’s home. The couple were high school sweethearts and celebrated 74 years together this year. Together they had two daughters, Peggy and Doll. 

Besides his family, Dale loved his animals, old time music, dancing, playing cards, telling stories and jokes. He loved to laugh along with visiting with people. 

Dale was a faithful member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove where he held many offices over the years.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Creta Prosch of Lake View, IA (formerly of Ida Grove, IA); daughters Peggy (Doug) Hanson of Ida Grove, IA and Doll (James) Wiegel of Hastings, NE; grandchildren: Ginger Wych, Beau Hanson, Jamie (Scott) Burns, Lindsay (Zach) Frey, Whitney (Meghan) Wiegel, Zach (Samantha Harrison) Wiegel; great grandchildren: Savannah, Austin, Brody, and Camden Wych, Emerson, Maggie, and Weston Frey, Rozlynn, Rylee, and Rorie Wiegel; sister Darlene (Don) Schmidt of Holstein, IA; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Alma Prosch; infant twin brother Donald; in-laws Alfred and Ethel Else; many other relatives and friends.
