Michael Christopher Landon, the son of Thomas and Barbara (Boje) Landon, was born on November 27, 1963, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up in Charter Oak, Iowa and received his education in the Charter Oak Community School District until his last few years of high school when they moved and he finished his schooling at Manilla High School. After high school, Michael enlisted into the Iowa National Guard.
On December 29, 2012, Michael was united in marriage to Carrie Bumann at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa. Michael was blessed to be the father of six children: Samantha, Jarrett, Joseph, Dustin, Tyler, and Cody.
Michael worked various places until his employment at Midwest Industries in Ida Grove, Iowa, in the early 90’s. He remained there until 2008. He then began working at GHA in Holstein, Iowa, then on to Hancock Concrete in Lake View, Iowa, before returning back to Midwest Industries in 2015 where he was still employed at the time of his passing.
In his free time Michael loved wood working. He was always busy working on something. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, 4-wheeler rides with uncle Bill in the pasture and creek as well as attending NASCAR races in Kansas City, and playing put-put and arcade games with the kids. Michael could be found feeding the squirrels and birds and took great pride in the appearance of his yard and house.
But most of all Michael enjoyed time spent with his family and his two dogs, Nala and Rudy. He was always there when his family or friends needed him. After the kids graduated, he cherished time with them when they came to visit; especially in his last months.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife Carrie Landon of Ida Grove, IA; children Samantha (Isaiah) Salmon of Arthur, IA, Jarrett Bumann of Sioux City, IA, Dustin Landon (special friend Alysha Mesenbrink) of Castana, IA, Tyler Landon (special friend Meghann Sudsbury) of Ute, IA and Cody Landon of Soldier, IA; 7 grandchildren; brother Steven (Kaori) Landon of Killeen, TX; sisters Lori (Bill) Davis and Sandra Landon both of Ida Grove, IA; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Landon and Barbara Landon; stepmother Mildred Landon; and son Joseph Landon.
