Phyllis Jean Fick, age 95, of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Willow Dale Wellness Village of Battle Creek, Iowa.
A Private Family Funeral Service will be held with Rev. Neil Wehmas officiating. Committal Services will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa.

Phyllis J. Fick was born on June 3, 1928, in Ida County, Iowa, to Ernest and Edna (Schiernbeck) Fick. She graduated from Battle Creek High School with the class of 1946. Phyllis then attended Samuel’s Beauty School in Sioux City, Iowa.
From 1947 until 1972, Phyllis owned and operated Vogue’s Beauty Shop in Ida Grove, Iowa. She then worked as a case worker for the Department of Human Services in Ida and Monona counties and later for the district office in Sioux City from 1972 until her retirement in 1991.
Phyllis was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, Iowa. She was baptized in her faith at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Battle Creek on July 22, 1928 and confirmed on April 18, 1942. Phyllis enjoyed playing softball, reading, and traveling. She was an avid bowler who participated in league and many tournaments. Phyllis received several bowling awards including the 225 and 600 pins club.
Left to cherish her memory include brothers John Fick of Danbury, IA, Kenneth Palm of Houston, TX and sister-in-law Diane Palm of Central City, NE; nieces and nephews Tom Collins, Connie Hamann, Ann Collins, Joe Collins, Nancy Berry, Kristine Richardson, Kevin Palm, Dawn Lantz, Danyal Metz, and Mark Palm; many great nieces and nephews; special friend Janet Eberly of Cherokee, IA and her son Scott and daughter Karen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Fick and Edna Palm; stepfather Alfred Palm; brother Dennis Palm; sister Lois Collins; and sisters-in-law Kathryn Palm and Joan Fick.
