Lois Korner, age 89, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Willow Dale Wellness Village of Battle Creek, Iowa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Neil Wehmas will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Trinity Grant Lutheran Cemetery of rural Ida Grove, Iowa.

A Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the  St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Born on July 14, 1934, in Lemmon, South Dakota, Lois La Vonne Korner, was the daughter of Walter and Mable (Coles) Roozen. She attended school in South Dakota and moved to Fallon, NV, as a teenager with her parents.

Lois graduated from Fallon High School with the class of 1952. She met her future husband Lodean Korner when he was stationed at a Naval Air Station there. On April 29, 1956, Lois was united in marriage to Lodean at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Ida County, Iowa. They farmed for five years and were blessed with a daughter Laurene.

Lodean, Lois, and Laurene moved to Fallon in 1961.  Lois was employed at the telephone company for 30 years and retired in 1989. After their retirement, Lois and Lodean moved to Ida Grove, Iowa. Lois was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, where she was an active member of circle 3 and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing cribbage, sewing quilts and visiting here daughter’s family in North Carolina.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Lodean Korner of Ida Grove, IA; daughter Laurene (Roger) Morphis of Browns Summit, NC; three grandchildren: Donna (Steven) Staley, Tiffany Tittle, Katie (Greg) Barbour; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mable Roozen; sister Phyllis Roozen; sister-in-law Donna Korner and brother-in-law Wayne Korner.
