Ricky J. Jepsen, age 57, of Danbury, Iowa passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his residence of Danbury, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove Iowa. The Reverend Barbara Joy will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Christensen - Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa. Ricky J. Jepsen was born on June 26, 1957, in Ida Grove, Iowa to Edward and Wanda (Little) Jepsen. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith at the Lutheran Church of Battle Creek, Iowa.
Ricky grew up in the Ida Grove area and attended school before moving to live in Omaha. He graduated from South Omaha High School in 1972.
Ricky worked various jobs in different cities. He met Tammey Wieneke and the couple were united into marriage in the Lutheran Church of Ida Grove on January 4, 1992. Ricky and Tammy were blessed with six children, Michael, Samuel, Matthew, Raymond, Ronni, and Maurianna Jepsen and one honorary son, Rigo Beckner.
Ricky and his family made their home in Ida Grove, Iowa from 1992 to 2000. The family then relocated to Danbury, Iowa.
Ricky enjoyed fishing, music concerts, board games, his dogs, spending time with his family, visiting with friends, and playing cards. He was very proud of his Taekwondo accomplishment obtaining a second degree black belt.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tammey Jepsen of Danbury, Iowa; children, Michael, Samuel, Matthew, Raymond, Ronni, and Maurianna Jepsen and honorary son, Rigo Beckner of Danbury, Iowa; brothers, Robert (Lillian) Jepsen of Aberdeen South Dakota; Roger (Edna) Jepsen of Munford Tennessee; Randy (Violy) Jepsen of Aberdeen, South Dakota; sister, Janice (Merle) Rupert of Ida Grove, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Jepsen and Wanda Jepsen; step-father, Ray Schramm; and brother, Ronald Jepsen.
