Ardyce J. Wolterman, age 83, of Albert City, Iowa (formerally of Ida Grove, Iowa) passed away on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home, of Albert City, Iowa.


Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. The Father Richard D. Ball will officiate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 one hour prior to services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. The Christensen ~ Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to www.christensenvanhouten.com 

 

Ardyce Wolterman was born on October 15, 1931 in Norfolk, NE to Fred and Mildred (Albers) Koch. As a young child Ardyce moved with her family to Iowa. She attended country school and graduated from Aurelia High School in 1949.

On February 11, 1954, Ardyce married Delmar Wolterman at Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee, Iowa. The couple were blessed with three children, Shelly, Brett and Cal.

Ardyce worked at three banks in the towns of Aurelia, Arthur and Ida Grove, for 40 years before she retired in 1993. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa and a member of the Altar Society.

After retiring she enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Horn Memorial Hospital Gift Shop and the Nursing Home.  Arydce was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, loved working in her yard raking leaves, and belonged to a 500 card club. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and baking cookies and banana bread for them.

Ardyce is survived by her children, Shelly Buse and her husband Kevin of Albert City, Iowa; Brett Wolterman and wife Leah of San Jose, California; and Cal Wolterman and Fiancée Alycia of Swea City, Iowa; grandchildren, Jordan Buse and Fiancée Josh Kermes, Kash Buse, Cody and Chad Wolterman,  Kaden Wolterman, Kyle Wolterman, Haeley, Caedyn, and Hanna Sandvig; great grandchild, Gage Kermes; brother Val Koch and wife Peg of Cherokee, Iowa; sister, Charlene Peterson and husband Dale of Aurelia, Iowa; and several niece, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Delmar Wolterman.
