In Memory of Harold E. Blume

Harold E. Blume, age 58, of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away on December 19, 2015 at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, of Battle Creek, Iowa. The Reverend Kevin J. Freese will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Memorial Service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa.  The Christensen - Van Houten Funeral Home of Battle Creek, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Harold E. Blume was born on July 24, 1957, to Marvin and Ruth (Hedberg) Blume. Harold was raised in the Castana, Iowa and Battle Creek, Iowa area where he attended school.

Harold was united into marriage to Kathy McLarty and to this union two children were born, Donnie and Michael. Later the couple parted ways.

Harold then entered into marriage to Karen Wulf. Harold made his home in Battle Creek, Iowa and worked as a welder. He enjoyed the outdoors: camping, fishing, and chopping wood, but most of all Harold treasured his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are wife, Karen Blume of Pipestone, MN; children, Donnie Grimes of Galva, Iowa and Michael Grimes of Holstein, Iowa; grandchildren, Jasmine Grimes, Donovin Grimes, Donomic Grimes,  Braeden Grimes, plus one on the way; step-children, Stephanie Peeso, Carissa Peeso, Kris Peeso  all of Pipestone, MN; step grandchild, Tony Peeso; brothers, Carl (Sharon) Blume of Schleswig, Iowa, Keith (Barb) Blume of Battle Creek, Iowa, Kevin (Charity) Blume of Battle Creek, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Ruth Blume; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
