Sherry Lee Dudding, age 82, of Bancroft, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the Algona Manor Care Center of Algona, Iowa.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Rev. Kevin J. Frees will officiate; committal will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Sherry Lee Dudding, the daughter of Hugo and Lucille (Pilcher) Johnson was born on October 3, 1934 in Algona, IA. She spent her childhood in Algona and was married at an early age to Jerry Kuchenreuther. To this union four children were born Pam, Vicki, Scott, and Teri. Following Jerrys death, Sherry married Richard Dudding in Bancroft, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Cindy and Mark.

Sherry was employed in the past at Willow Dale Care Center of Battle Creek, IA, Murry Art Studio of Garden City, KS, and Walmart in Sioux City, IA. In 2002 Sherry moved back to Bancroft, IA to share companionship with her brother-in-law and longtime friend Bill Dudding.

Sherry was an accomplished seamstress and artist. She liked tending to her garden and flower beds, taking extra time to plant sweet peas for Mark along with her bright yellow daffodils. Sherry loved attending craft shows with her family, watching John Wayne movies, and had a tender spot for cats and dogs. Sherry enjoyed her time spent with her family and attending her grandchildren’s numerous events. Sherry will be remembered as mom, grandma “grammy”, homemaker and caregiver.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents Hugo and Lucille Johnson; husbands Jerry Kuchenreuther and Richard Dudding; sons Scott Kuchenreuther Dudding and Mark Dudding; great grandson Shane Patrick Brainerd; sister Doris (Spedo) Kakos; and brother Clyde Johnson.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother-in-law and longtime friend Bill Dudding; daughters Pam (Denny) Brainerd of Sioux City, IA, Vicki (Byron) Dausel of Battle Creek, IA; Teri (Bruce) Brock of Le Mars, IA; and Cindy (Terry) Bloomquist of Fort Dodge, IA; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings Karl (Dianna) Johnson, IA, Avis (Wally) Adams, AZ, and Fern Haynes, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
