Darlene Esther Boysen, age 87, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the Morningside Care Center of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2018, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Richard A. Salcido will officiate with Committal Services following in the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2018, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Darlene Esther Boysen, was born June 28, 1931, the daughter of Otto and Esther (Ahlquist) Dose. She was raised on farms around the Mapleton and Ida Grove, IA area and attended country school. On July 19, 1953, Darlene married Robert Boysen at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. The couple was blessed with two children: Shirley and Mark

Darlene loved being a farm wife and raising her children in the country. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens as well as helping her husband on the farm. When not helping outside, she could be found doing embroidery work or making baby blankets that she quilted together from the embroidery squares she had made.

Darlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a quiet and gentle person with a strong faith and love for her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory include her daughter Shirley (Donavon) Davenport of Ida Grove, IA; grandchildren Nicholas (Kristin) Davenport, D. Gregory (Romie) Davenport, Jr., Travis (Ashley) Davenport, Sarah (David) Larson, Damion Boysen and Lindsay Hedberg; great-grandchildren Savanna, Livia, Dax, Ben, Anabelle, Siena, and Hudson; sister-in-law Helen Dose of Ida Grove, IA; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Esther Dose; husband Robert Boysen; son Mark Boysen; brother LeRoy Dose; sisters Eileen (Leslie) Grell and Marie (Paul) Schwanz.
