In Memory of Rodney W. Lindberg

Rodney W. Lindberg, age 70, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at his residence of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Arthur Evangelical Free Church of Arthur, Iowa. Pastor Doug Corlew will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Born on December 19, 1952, Rodney Warren Lindberg, was welcomed into the world by his parents Warren and Irene (McGee) Lindberg in Ida Grove, Iowa. He walked by faith and was baptized at an early age in Kiron, Iowa. Rodney received his education in Ida Grove and graduated from Ida Grove High School with the class of 1971.

After graduation, Rodney was employed by United Builders of Ida Grove before attending basic training in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Upon returning from Louisiana, he commenced in farming, both agriculture and livestock which became his lifelong career.

On July 3, 1988, Rodney married the love of his life, Carole Broderson. They raised three children together: Shane, Rory and April.

Rodney was a member of the Summit Evangelical Free Church of Alta, Iowa. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and going on many trips with his friend, Donavon Davenport.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife Carole Lindberg of Ida Grove, IA; children Shane (Tiffany) Lindberg, Rory (Lyndsay) Lindberg, and April (Travis) Lichtenberg all of Ida Grove, IA; 7 grandchildren: Hannah Lindberg, Treyten Kolar, Brysen Kolar, Jenessa Kolar, Brecken Lichtenberg, Marley Lindberg, and Bailey Lindberg; sister Ruth Ann (Harlan) Carpenter of Lincoln, NE; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Everett and Ruth Lindberg; parents Warren and Irene Lindberg; grandson Trystan Lindberg (infancy); and in-laws Bob and Gladys Broderson.
