Jean Ellen Bremer, the daughter of Eldon “Tootie” and Alice (Otto) Heitmann, was born on March 14, 1952. She grew up in Holstein, Iowa and received her education from Holstein High School.

After high school, Jean attended beauty school in Storm Lake, Iowa and received her cosmetology certification. Jean married Don Bremer and they were blessed with seven children: Donnie, Jennifer, Todd, Wayne, Jeannia, Jinger, and Jodi. The couple raised their children in Battle Creek, Iowa and later parted ways. Besides raising her own children, Jean is remembered providing daycare for many children at “Jeannie’s House”.

Jean was a creative, artsy crafty individual. She enjoyed making homemade cards and gifts for her family and friends. Her creativity allowed her to make something out of what most people would consider nothing. Jean was a faith-based person. It was her faith that provided strength and guidance through many challenges during her lifetime.

Family meant the world to Jean. She treasured time spent laughing, playing, and using her imagination with her grandchildren. Grandma Jean’s unforgettable smile, infectious laughter, and positive sense of humor will always be remembered. She loved visiting with people. Jean leaves a legacy of love, grace, and kindness to those that were blessed to know her.

Left to cherish her memory include her children Donnie (Kim) Bremer of Sioux City, IA, Jennifer (Brent) Bower of Danbury, IA, Jeannia (Darron) Uhl of Battle Creek, IA, Jinger (Tomaso) Rizzi of Sorengo, Switzerland and Jodi Snyder of Battle Creek, IA; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; siblings JoAnn Graff of Holstein, IA, Janice (Charles) Elledge of Bennington, NE, Judy (Terry) Folsom of Hiawatha, IA and Jon (Pam) Heitman of Holstein, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sons Wayne Michael Bremer and Todd Michael Bremer; and parents Eldon “Tootie” and Alice (Otto) Heitmann.
